This was a fun but busy week. :) In the past two weeks I’ve worked more overtime than I have all year. But, it’s been great, because I’m bringing in more money from my full-time job, and have secured almost $6,000 in freelance income for the next couple months.

I had a hot pot date on Monday with good friends from my very first job here in Vancouver. It’s a monthly date we all try hard to keep. :) Tuesday I met up with a friend for dinner, Wednesday I hung out with a few field hockey teammates, and Saturday I spent some time in Chinatown, then finally was able to check out the Herzog & de Meuron exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery. If you haven’t already checked it out, I’d definitely recommend it. The new Art Gallery is going to be pretty amazing for Vancouver, so it’s was interesting to learn about the architects who are designing it.

Field hockey practices have also started up (with games starting next week!), so my weeks are going to get even busier, but in a good way. I’ve missed the team, and I’m excited to shake the rust out of my stick and get the season started.

This was a really social week! On Monday I went to spin class with my friend, and then out for Starbucks afterwards. Tuesday I was treated to beers in the park with a friend. Friday I met up with my realtor to discuss listing prices and strategy, then went running with friends from my old job. Sunday a good pal and I went to an Iced Tea Festival, then headed downtown to Veg Fest Vancouver – where we had so much fun trying different products and walking around Granville Street. :) I even got to try my first vegan bacon cheesebuger, and it was really good!

And for the biggest expense of the week? I signed up for the GoodLife Half Marathon. It was the very first half marathon I ever ran back in 2013, and I’m really looking forward to beating my time from last year … and staying injury-free while training. :)

After such a spendy holiday away, I was able to keep expenses relatively low this week. I filled up my tank with a gas card left over from September’s Hyundai loaner card, and ate low key meals at home during the work week. Although I did indulge in two lunches out – including Le Tigre Food Truck on Friday. :)

Friday night, BF and I went for a date night on Granville Island to watch an improv comedy show starring Colin Mochrie. It was awesome! We both loved it, although I couldn’t help but wish Ryan Stiles had also been there.

Both Saturday and Sunday I had field hockey games, which was nice to get back into after having missed the last two weekends. BF’s parents treated us to dinner on Saturday evening, and then I met up with my pal Cait on Sunday evening for a stroll around New Westminster and dinner at Longtail Kitchen. So yum.

How was your week of spending?
