I’m staying at BF’s tonight, and tomorrow after work, I’m heading back to the island. I’m excited to be going home, but like usual, it’s going to be a busy weekend. As soon as I get home around 9:30pm, I’m going to pick my sister up from work, and we’ll go out for coffee (we haven’t hung out in what feels like forever). Saturday morning, I have to play 2 hockey games, then I’m meeting a friend for lunch, another friend for coffee, and then I’m meeting my sister again to run errands (get pants and coat altered, etc) downtown … Continue reading
This past weekend was very very tiring. I worked Saturday evening from 5-10pm, and then Sunday from 7am-5:45pm. Today after work, BF and I might go up skiing since it’s cheap night for women. I’d really like to go, but I hope I’m not too tired. I’ve practically passed out from exhaustion the last 2 nights after getting home from work. Plus, that’s $25 that I don’t really need to be spending. Especially because on Saturday morning, we drove down to Bellingham. I bought a microwave plate cover for $1.99 and a sugar bear (to keep brown sugar soft) for … Continue reading
Well, I updated the sidebars and my NetworthIQ. I’m not as bad off as I thought I was, but I know I’ve been spending a lot more than I should be spending. It’s such an expensive pain in the butt, this whole moving thing. I’m glad it’s over, so I can settle into some sort of financial routine. After paying off my moving expenses on my credit card (and my new glasses), I was able to put $1,300 of my EI payout back into my EF (new total of $1,514.25), and then I just shoved $200 into my Condo Down … Continue reading
Well, Seattle yesterday was a lot of fun, and although I spent more than I had originally anticipated, I don’t feel bad. I have the $, and I considered this day trip to be a sort of “reward” for finally achieving my goal of gaining full-time employment. That being said, the next time I go down, I’ll definitely try to curb the unnecessary spending by planning better (ex. $26 for parking in downtown Seattle? How ridiculous!). Plus, we also got lost trying to get back to the highway to go home. How did that happen? Perhaps bringing a map would … Continue reading
Yesterday after work, BF and I went out to the Sunshine Coast for the night. I forgot just how pretty it is out there. Hopefully I can get back out there sometime this summer. :) We caught the 6:20am ferry back to Vancouver this morning, and I rolled into work at around 7:30am. I am super bagged. It seems like this entire week has been one non-stop endless day of running around the city like a chicken with my head cut off. Can’t wait until I can move all my stuff over here and settle into a regular life again. … Continue reading
