The BF finally agreed to go on the trip to Seattle with me at the end of the month (June 29 – July 2) … and he’s even agreed to stay at the Green Tortoise Hostel! I know people have warned me about this hostel, but the Hostelling International closed down, so I didn’t have much of a choice since I’m too cheap to go to a hotel. Plus, the hostel was a really good deal. We reserved a double bed for only $20 each/night (they said they couldn’t gurantee us a double bed, but that they’d try – at the very least we’ll be in the same room together), they serve a free breakfast in the morning, and they’re right smack in downtown Seattle. This is shaping up to be a pretty cheap trip so far!
I can’t believe the BF even agreed to go. I was all set on going myself, and then meeting up with my friend on my last night there. He even said yes, after I told him I’d be spending a lot of time looking through Macy’s, and all the other wonderful American stores I’ve never been into before, and that he’d better not rush me! I especially don’t want to be rushed when cruising through Pike Place Market. But I promised to take him to the Museum of Flight to make up for it though, and he seemed quite satisfied with that arrangement.
We also decided to see all three Toronto Blue Jays games while we’re down there. The first night, we’re just going to get the cheap $7 outfield bleacher seats, and then for the next 2 games, we’ll splurge and get the $16 seats. It’s still undecided if we’re going to really splurge and get the good seats for $50. We probably won’t, but I really want to … I’ve never sat at field-level before, and it’d be a wonderful opportunity while watching my favourite baseball team.
Anyway, I’ll post the final breakdown for the cost of the trip once I get everything organized and confirmed!
Also, to anyone who’s following the NHL playoffs right now … even though I’m a proud Canadian, and I love my country to bits … QUACK QUACK, baby! :)
