WEEKLY SIDE INCOME *: + $1,000
I’ve been working hard and earned a decent $1,000 in freelance income this week. I have also invoiced out for over $4,000. I doubt I’ll see most of it this month, but it’s coming soon, and that’s a good feeling.
On Friday, I went to my first neighbourhood networking event. It was a Christmas curling (yes, I said curling) party for “young professionals” in my area, and it was certainly interesting. I finally met a few people I’ve only known via Twitter. My realtor was there, along with my neighbour, and a few people I recognized from around town. It was a good first attempt at getting more integrated into the neighbourhood, and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better.
Other than that, it was a normal week of spending. :) How did you do last week?
* This is all income I bring in that is above and beyond my full-time job. Money is primarily made through my two blogs and my graphic design business.

Good job on the freelance income!

Curling is a ton of fun-I hope you liked it. What a great idea for a neighbourhood event.

Just wondering, is side income gross or net of income tax?
It’s all gross income. I’m currently saving for taxes in a separate account. Too hard to figure out taxes on a weekly basis.
Krystal, did you actually get to do any curling? Would love to hear your thoughts on the game :)
Nope, I didn’t do any curling (found out about it too late and couldn’t get a team together). But I have done lawn bowling before, which I know is quite similar. :)
Great week on side income! Im a freqent reader of your blog as I hope to create my own PF blog really soon. Do you have any tips for a newbie? -Randy
How did you find out about the neighbourhood networking event? Sounds like a great idea, looking for something similar in my area.

Actually I found out about this event through Twitter! :) I make sure to follow all my local event groups and key people in the community so I can stay on top of what’s happening around me.
@Krystal Yee: Ooo thanks for the tip!

I just happened to be at the same Christmas curling event!
The curling part was a lot of fun (despite the laughter from the pros the next lane over). Sorry I didn’t get to meet you, but perhaps we will run into each other at the next event.

Holy moly! Nice work this weekend!
