A new freelance writing opportunity

I’ve mentioned a few times in the past couple of weeks that I’ve got a new freelancing gig – well now I can tell you that I’m a brand new personal finance writer for Canadian Living! For those who don’t know, Canadian Living is a monthly lifestyle magazine (and also available online), which focuses on food, fashion, crafts, health, family advice – and now personal finance.

The topics that I will be covering are a bit different than on this blog, and on Moneyville. With Canadian Living, I’ll be discussing personal finance news, tax, real estate, government policy/law, history, book reviews, and any other miscellaneous topics.

It’s been a bit of an adjustment, but I think I’m adapting okay so far, and I’m really excited and nervous about this job. Excited, because it’s something new and I’m writing for a real, legitimate magazine now. Nervous, because I’ve also never stretched myself like this before. I have no real experience as a journalist or a writer. I’m not used to conducting interviews, and it’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but it’s good for me. And it’s really kind of the next step in my freelancing career – to become more legit.

I’ll be blogging once a week for Canadian Living. I don’t know if anything I write will end up going to print, but it will all be online, so I hope some of you will follow me over there as well. :) Link to come soon. I’ll also be posting all of my articles to my Facebook page as well as Twitter.
