I did well with keeping my expenses low during the week, because I knew this weekend trip to Seattle would be somewhat pricey. On Thursday, I went to dinner with some friends. Okay, it was a double date. And on Friday I went for noodles with another group of friends.

As for the weekend trip to Seattle, well, the Red Sox were in town, so prices for baseball tickets skyrocketed. It was almost ridiculous, yet still cheaper than the tickets I bought for next weekend’s games in Oakland, so I guess I can’t complain that much.

I also fulfilled a dream of finally eating at The Crab Pot (featured by Adam Richman on Man. vs Food). Verdict? Great for the experience, but not sure if it was worth it. Don’t get me wrong, the seafood was amazing, but not $33 amazing. But after eating at The Crab Pot, I realized that my new goal in life should be to try every restaurant and food challenge ever featured on Man vs. Food. Maybe. :)

I'm a huge fan of Man vs. Food, glad I'm not the only girl in Canada that watches it!

We have a goal in common! (amongst others) – to try every restaurant ever featured on the show. I actually had to adjust my food budget a few months ago to accommodate this new obsession :)

I love having challenges like that…I also happen to love food…so this sounds pretty amazing!

Hey, random question–but when you tally your freelance income for each week, does this mean you invoiced that amount this week or you actually received payment?

Also, have you ever posted a full breakdown of a month's spending and saving? I would be interested in seeing how your entire pay is divvied up, as I think we have similar FT salaries and you've mentioned putting away $600ish a month for retirement and I'd love to see how the rest of your budget works out as I can't imagine being able to do that myself!

The freelance income I note on each weekly recap is what I have actually received as payment – not invoiced. I know from past experience that clients can take a really, really long time to pay up. So it's best not to count on the money until it's actually clear and in your bank account. :)

Also, no I don't think I've posted a full breakdown of spending and savings. At the end of each month, I post the breakdown of my spending, but that's it … maybe I'll do a full savings/spending recap for the month of September.

I like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I've tried a couple of the restaurants featured on that show and the food was Amazing!
