Over the past few weeks I have been feeling completely overwhelmed, and I feel like the process of breaking up with someone has somewhat overshadowed most of the excitement I should be feeling as a new home owner. And both events combined have turned my life into a crazy emotional roller coaster. But spending the weekend at home playing field hockey, and hanging out with family and friends has helped a lot. When I was home on the weekend, I spent a few minutes rummaging through some boxes in my old bedroom. There, amid the dusty papers, I found something I … Continue reading
As you know, I’ve been going to open houses and viewing appointments for the past three weeks. Well, earlier this week, my Realtor and I went to view a super cute 1-bedroom townhouse in a great neighbourhood. In fact, I’ve been admiring that building complex for years because it’s right down the road from my gym. After seeing a few other places and waiting a couple of days, we decided to go see it again. And this time I really analyzed it. I considered the location and space based on where I see myself over the next few years, my … Continue reading

They’re not as bad as I remember them being (a 3-month membership is only $209, and a 12-month membership is $529). I am getting super motivated to start climbing again – especially during the summer months when the gym is a little quieter, and I don’t have field hockey to play. Climbing is a seriously hard workout, but it’s fun and social at the same time. The only problem is, I don’t have a climbing partner anymore! I … Continue reading
Please note that my weekly spending recaps only account for spending that is directly affecting my monthly budget. This does not take into account spending out of my savings, as that is considered planned spending and not included in my monthly numbers. For example, I spent $1,180 on a down payment for my braces on Monday, but because the money was saved up, it doesn’t affect my monthly budget. :) Monday 4th $31.81 groceries $6.13 Wendy’s Tuesday 5th No Spend Day! Wednesday 6th $1.29 iTunes $7.83 drug store Thursday 7th + $797.80 freelance/side income $2.50 parking Friday 8th $2.00 parking Saturday … Continue reading
