Please note that my weekly spending recaps only account for spending that is directly affecting my monthly budget. This does not take into account spending out of my savings, as that is considered planned spending and not included in my monthly numbers. For example, I spent $1,180 on a down payment for my braces on Monday, but because the money was saved up, it doesn’t affect my monthly budget. :)

Monday 4th
$31.81 groceries
$6.13 Wendy’s

Tuesday 5th
No Spend Day!

Wednesday 6th
$1.29 iTunes
$7.83 drug store

Thursday 7th
+ $797.80 freelance/side income
$2.50 parking

Friday 8th
$2.00 parking

Saturday 9th
No Spend Day!

Sunday 10th
$47.70 gym punch card (10x)
$48.04 gas

WEEKLY EXPENSES: - $147.30
WEEKLY SIDE INCOME*: + $797.80

TOTAL: + $650.50

This was a decent week. My expenses were a little high because I bought a new gym punch card, and gas prices just keep going up! I received a raise at my PT job, and was able to bring in a freelance project. I also have a good idea to increase my design income, and have been offered more freelance writing assignments (which I’m not sure I can take because there are only so many hours in a day!). I wish I could dedicate more time to these amazing opportunities. And I still need to redesign my blog.

Next week is not going to be pretty, I’m just warning you right now. :) So I’m glad I was able to keep my spending low this week. I’m headed back home for the first time since Christmas, and there will be plenty of people to see, and as many things to cram into those 2 days as possible.

* This is all income I bring in that is above and beyond my full-time job. Money is primarily made through my two blogs and my graphic design business.

That great news, I am sure your family is excited to see you and proud of what you accomplish. I hope you have a great reunion with your family!

"Family Obligations" is never fun when it organizes every moment of your time. Been there, done that, got the "Stupid am I" sticker.

If anyone starts laying gilt on you about not visiting so-and-so, the best course is to apologize, tell them the main obligation (the tournament), and say that your time is limited and not under your control. Most people will understand.
