Pictures of my new clothing!
With my 6-month shopping ban over, I faced a 1-week window of opportunity over the holidays to pick up a few items before embarking on another shopping ban until my trip to NYC.
Here are the items that I bought:
So these items are what I considered to be most important off of my list of wants. I actually had purchased another top and a jacket, but once I got home, I realized that neither of them were really on my list and I didn’t really want them – so they both got returned. I really tried to get a pair of black skinny pants, but will have to wait and get them later.
These items certainly weren’t the cheapest options available to me, but I was looking for quality brands that I trust. I’ve tried so hard to shop at stores like H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy, etc. but nothing ever fits properly. I need stores that offer a petite section. I really love the Smoking Lily tunic. It can be worn long or scrunched at the waist for versatility. Expensive though, but totally worth it. I also ended up getting Josef Seibel boots, after my attempt at buying Frye boots fell through. I tried on 2 or 3 pairs at Nordstroms but the brand just doesn’t fit me. :( They were all too narrow in the toe box and too wide in the heel. These Seibel boots are practical and comfy, and are around the same price I paid for my only other pair of boots.
Also, the Nike running pants weren’t on my list of wants, but I bought them anyway as a treat. I feel kind of guilty about it, but I justified them as my treat for getting raises in both of my jobs. I also really wanted to buy a few Nike sports bras, but for some reason I couldn’t bring myself to buy them for $20 each at the outlet mall. I’ll make do with what I have.
Anyway, that’s it! I’m not sure if my shopping ban really helps me to save much on the total amount I spend on clothing annually ($325 seems like a lot of money to have spent on just a few pieces of clothing), but it certainly does help me prioritize my wants and makes me really evaluate what I want to spend my money on. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months!

Nice purchases! I really like that wrap dress from BR. I was there on boxing week, they had 40% off the whole store and a lot of nice clothes but it was so crowded I had to leave.lol. I would be interested as well to see if this ban results in you spending less on clothes overall…it would be interesting. But I do like that it helps you realize what is really a need and a want. I am thinking about having a clothing ban myself, but there is a few more things I want as well before I start. P.S did you read my post about getting a new computer I was hoping for your opinion! :)

You may have spent " a lot" but I definitely think that it's worth it to spend more money of a few quality pieces that you will get a lot of use out of.

I LOVE that wrap dress. Especially with the grey tights and the boots, you're going to look fantastic!!!
I just went shopping at Value Village and was thrilled with my finds … although I still need a nice pair of flat riding boots for the spring. Boots make the world go 'round.

I completely agree with the other girls on here, I love that that wrap dress and tunic! Better to spend the money on a few quality pieces than on a bunch of stuff that won't last. I'm with you on having difficulties finding proper fits at the more budget friendly stores :( Most of my wardrobe was H&M for the longest time. It would either never quite looked right, or would warp as soon as they were washed. I'm much happier working with a smaller wardrobe of things that fit well (well, getting there anyway).

What a great deal on the Nike pants! I'm a Nike fanatic when it comes to my workout gear, and I've never seen the pants come down that low. Good that you snagged that "treat" because it's a good price.
