So my friend and I found and booked our accommodation for NYC. It’s a cute apartment in Chelsea, which is where I’ve always wanted to stay. The owners have gotten great reviews on VRBO and have been quick to answer all of my questions. So I feel confident in booking with them.
I had originally budgeted $600 for my share of the accommodation, and it ended up being $462.50! Well under budget. It can hold up to 4 people, so if a couple of other friends wanted to join in on our trip, they would be able to (and our costs would only go down!) – I’m looking your way, Blonde on a Budget! :)
And as for my Toronto accommodation, I think I’m going to actually end up staying in Ginger’s spare room that she rents out. It’s not downtown like I had hoped, but it’s near transit and I’ve been to Toronto enough times to figure out where I’m going (I think). Plus, it’s a lot cheaper than the price of a hotel.
That means as of right now, I am $279.65 under my $1400 budget for flights and accommodation. LOVE IT!

That's pretty cool , I am usually five bucks over the budget , just joking , but I am usually over my budget and can't manage it properly , good to see it can be done.

I was going to offer you my place, but I am not sure if I'll be there, so I didn't want you to count on the place and then go: Oh SORRY..

Yay! So excited about your visit. :D
Ginger's might not be downtown but she's pretty close to the subway and is close to Little Italy/Portugal as I recall which has yummy foods. =)…
Mmm I can't wait to enjoy Toronto's yummy restaurants, and for you to show them to me! :) There's a small chance I'll be out there in January on business too!

My goodness- it’s like a PF blogger network of homestays. That sounds awesome- it always makes the trip EVEN BETTER to be under budget. :)
