Ryan Adams is back, & it cost me $31.99

Yesterday I dropped $31.99 US to pre-order the new Ryan Adams & The Cardinals album, III/IV. It’s a 2-CD set with 11 bonus tracks. You might have heard of me talking about the band before, so for those of you who don’t know, they’re my favourite band. Ryan Adams is best known for being one of the most prolific and most talented singer/songwriters in the world. He is also known for not marrying me, and marrying Mandy Moore instead. My $196 speeding ticket

Early yesterday morning on the drive down to Seattle I got a speeding ticket. It was right where the highway turns into the Canada/USA border area, and an unmarked police car was just waiting there to catch speeders. I get a $25 “discount” if I pay within 30 days which brings it down to $171. This is my first speeding ticket ever … Continue reading

Over the years I have been fortunate enough to earn a decent amount of money through my freelance business, through this blog, as well as with part-time jobs. Through these side projects, I have been able to boost my overall income by about 20-25%. I work from home through my freelance business on a casual basis. I do graphic … Continue reading

Playing with vacation days

Next year my family was supposed to take another vacation together to Cuba – much like our trip to Playa del Carmen this year. But my mom just spent a significant amount of money on some much needed home renovations, so that trip is on hold and talk is now of a much bigger trip to China in a few years. Now that Cuba isn’t happening, I have some vacation days to play with. I have 16.5 days allotted for 2011 (1.5 carried over from 2010). The breakdown right now goes something like this: 1 day – Calgary (February) 1 … Continue reading
