If you thought last week was expensive, then this week seems just as bad. Of course the totals you see above do not reflect the $587.85 I spent on my Toronto/Buffalo/NYC flights. I took the money out of my Savings Fund, so it didn’t actually affect my monthly budget. Whereas last week’s flights to Calgary are coming out of my monthly budget. I can’t believe I’ve spent $1,000 on flights in the past 2 weeks!

I also had to replenish my facial products. I made the decision earlier this year to stick with Skyn Iceland – an expensive all-natural face care line that I found through Sephora. Why? Because I’ve spent the last 10-12 years struggling to find a good face regiment that works with my dry, extremely sensitive skin. I bought everything – day cream, night cream, eye cream and face wash – back in February, and I will run out by the end of the year. So instead of ordering through Sephora, I decided to order right from Skyn. Especially because they were having 20% off for Black Friday, plus they had a gift set that really helped out. Back in February I paid $200 US + tax for all 4 items. And this time I paid $132.95 US total. So it’s a significant savings. I’m hoping that I can make it until Black Friday 2011 to order again. And I think I can. Just have to remember that a little goes a long way with these products.

you are so diligent with these posts. I've been trying to get in the habit of tracking every cent we spend, but it's soo difficult!

I know, I make it a point to make a new "draft" post and add expenses to it during the week. I find if I don't, then I'm a lot less aware of what I've already spent during the week. And if I allow myself to get behind in tracking my expenses, then I might never get myself caught up again. I'm lazy that way! lol

  3. I am about 2 months away from finishing the first bottle I bought and reviewed. :P

I have it on my list to replenish, only because the winter has been taking a bite out of my face lately

Skin care is one area where if you have to then money is no option. If you can wear Nivea or Vaseline and it works for you then how lucky are you, but if you have problem skin and have to buy a dearer product then it is so worth it. At the moment I am paying around the $100 mark for Dior Moisturiser as my skin is getting drier and crepey with age.

I agree with Jessie. Your spending recap posts are great. I post my spending on weekly basis as well, but sometimes feel that I fall behind or forget. Do you keep some sort of notes, like when you are in your car on what you spent your money on? Just in case you forget, or you just tally up all the receipts?

I make sure to get receipts for everything (and I never pay in cash, so I also have a record of it on a debit or credit card), and then on a weekly basis (usually on Sundays), I go through all of my receipts and update my financials in Quicken. :)

    FYI.

According to http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/, some Skyn Iceland products contain harmful ingredients.
