Flights booked!

So my original travel budget for my Toronto/NYC trip was $720 with an additional $80 for the car rental & gas.

Well, last night I booked my flight from Vancouver-Toronto, Buffalo-NYC, New Jersey-Vancouver for $587.85!!! That’s all taxes and fees in, and yes that is also in Canadian dollars. I am very pleased with that price. Especially considering they are all direct flights. Even BF was shocked that I got such a great deal.

My friend booked the rental car for $106, so I am probably looking at $70 for my share of the rental ($53 for rental + gas).

Which means my $800 travel budget now sits at $657.85, or $142.15 less than I had budgeted. :)

    Hi Krystal!

I just discovered your blog and have found a lot of your advice relevant and inspiring. I've been reading numerous PF blogs and many people talk about having an emergency fund, a Christmas present fund, travel fund etc….from your experience, how do you keep these funds separate? Is it best to create different bank accounts for these or to keep the cash in an envelope? Your advice is much appreciated!

    Take care,
    Karolina from Toronto

Can you post your itinerary so that we can learn how can you achieve this? Flight prices really vary depending on seasons.
