I’m very much considering selling our Wii and all of our accessories. We just don’t play it very often anymore, and I don’t really have any room to do my exercises with their fitness games (our place really is that small).
Seems like a shame, because it’s such a fun thing to have around. We could keep it around, but BF and I both think that getting a Playstation 3 is a better idea, especially now that they’ve introduced Move (which I hear is better than the Wii).
The Playstation is great because it would also be our Blu-ray player, and we’ve been wanting one of those for a long time. Plus, BF likes the game selection for the PS3 much better than anything out on Wii. I’d probably be looking at getting the Playstation Move bundle, as well as a few (used) games.
BUT the PS3 is so expensive. We can’t afford it without selling the Wii. So my proposal was to sell the Wii and all of the games/accessories, put all the money towards a PS3 (I’m thinking I can get $250 for the entire thing, as I have a lot of the accessories – extra controller, balance board, sports accessories, nunchucks, charger, motion plus add-ons – and about 10 games), and then instead of buying each other Christmas presents, we would make up the cost difference of the PS3 and my used Wii.
I will be watching PS3 prices into 2011 to make sure we get the best price (also watching Craigslist/eBay, etc. for any great condition used machines), and in the meantime I will post my Wii stuff on Craigslist to see if I get any bites.

Hmmm….do you collect Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum points? I was able to buy our Wii much cheaper by maximizing my points and trading them in for a big discount. And according to a press release I read, PS3 should also be coming to Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Fall 2010 (may be delayed but should be soon). So you might be able to save that way as well. :)
PS3 is really good as well. The entertainment features (like Blue-Ray) as especially enticing.

The PS3 is not only a blu-ray player, but it is also a fabulous upscaling DVD player. And if you get the disk from Netflix, it is also a streaming video device for all their instant play content. The downloadable games available from the PS3 store are quite handy, and affordable, as well (at least the games we like to play!).
Probably won't invest in the Move for some time, as we never turn on our Wii anymore. I'm seriously considering packaging it all up and selling (or gifting if I can make the budget work) it to a family we know with kids who will really, really enjoy it.
