Monday 30th
$10.06 Tim Horton’s (breakfast for BF and I)

Tuesday 31st
$16.63 Starbucks (bought drinks for a couple other people in the office – they will pay next time)

Wednesday 1st
No Spend Day!

Thursday 2nd
No Spend Day!

Friday 3rd
$36.79 gas
$6.55 Starbucks (I know, 2x in one week? Those Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are evil. Won’t buy one next week to make up for it. Maybe.)
$120.10 Mountain Equipment Co-op (stocked up on a bunch of dehydrated meals, new hiking socks & liners, bug repellent, spork, zip-up shirt for BF, etc.)

Saturday 4th
$12.10 Tim Horton’s (breakfast for BF and I)
$42.36 gas (I paid for gas and BF paid for the ferry to the Sunshine coast to go hiking)

Sunday 5th
No Spend Day – hiking!

TOTAL: $244.59

Whenever BF and I go to MEC, we always spend more than we had intended on spending. Which is why we rarely ever go. This time, I think we got the essentials. We bought a ton of dehydrated meals which fed us this past weekend when we were hiking, and will also be enough for the October long weekend hike that we have planned. Those dehydrated meals are expensive (but worth it to save weight), and I’m still looking at bulk options online. Seems like you can buy them in big canisters and then put however much you want into your own ziplock pouch. But that would require bringing dishes. And all we usually bring is a tiny 1/2 litre pot for boiling water. I also had to replace a few things – lost my spork the last time we went hiking, and replaced a pair of socks that have holes in the heel. P.S. hiking socks are EXPENSIVE. They are at least $15/pair for ones that aren’t going to give you blisters.

I love pumpkin spice lattes!! Do you have Second Cup near you? They make pumpkin spice all year round.
I usually limit myself to drinking them in fall though. It makes it more special or something.

I feel the same way about Peppermint Mochas and Eggnog Lattes as you do about Pumpkin Spice Lattes. The thing is, you associate the drink with one time of year, which is usually associated with family and happy times so it's easy to feel all warm and fuzzy :)
