Oh.. it would have gotten there, but probably just barely. By the end of its life, it sounded like a motorcycle. ;)

I bought myself a little old Corolla about 33 months ago she is red and was born in 1991 I paid cash for her it,s the first time I have ever bought a cheapie car and the first time I have ever paid cash for a car. So far in that 33 months I have replaced the tyres ( which you would expect ) replaced the battery ( which you would expect ) and replaced a leaking hose, and that,s it. Maybe I was just really lucky, as my husband was annoyed at my choice, he thought I would get less than 15 months out of her, but boy was he wrong. By the way I call her BETTY

My sister (in California) just scrapped her car for $1,000 and was thrilled with being able to get rid of her car. I love these programs! You should be able to get a great bike with that cash.

I'm not sure exactly how long it's been around for, but at least 4 or 5 years. My friend scrapped his car about 4 years ago and got a 1-year bus pass out of it. Which is a pretty sweet deal!

There are a bunch of requirements on the Scrap-It website, but one says that you must be able to drive your car to a Scrap-It location. You can't tow or push it there. So it at least has to be in some sort of working condition.
