Monday this and that

Both Saturday and Sunday I went to the gym and had pretty good workouts. The blisters on my heels are still bothering me (they’re really tender and I have to wear socks around the house now until they heal), so as a result my run suffered a bit. I ran my 5km in 27:35. Both days I got between 45-50 min. of cardio, plus weights, abs & mat strengthening exercises.

I’m going back to the gym again today and tomorrow. My 10x pass is quickly running out, and I want to get a monthly pass … but I know with summer approaching I’m not sure how often I’ll use it. I know while BF is busy I will be going quite often. But once his schedule calms down a bit, perhaps we’ll be going on more hikes and rock climbing now that the weather is nice. So once my 10x pass runs out, I’ll get a 1-month pass and see how that goes. If I find I’m using it often to make it worth it (at least 3x/week), I’ll keep at it.

In other news, BF is contemplating taking my iMac off my hands once I decide to buy a new computer. Which would be perfect because I’d love to keep this beast in the family. I told him I’d just give it to him since he has an old, dying laptop (which would mean I’d just have to save for a little bit longer to get the new one) … but he said that he’d want to pay for it. I was originally thinking of asking between $800-1,000. So we’ll see. I don’t feel comfortable taking money from my own boyfriend. But I also know that he’d feel weird accepting a computer for free that I would be trying to sell. My mom also expressed a slight interest in buying my computer.

And as for the wallet search? I found one that I absolutely love from this Australian company called Spencer & Rutherford. The design isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but it fits my style perfectly. It was expensive, but I was able to make some extra money online last week that covered the price of the entire thing. So it doesn’t affect my budget at all. Gotta love that!

Oh, and my jeans that I got altered? I picked them up over the weekend, and they fit perfectly at the waist and they make my bum look great. :) So I’m really happy. But I will definitely be looking into cheaper alternatives to altering my clothes. $25 to take in a pair of pants at the waist is just too rich for my blood.

  1. The wallet is actually pretty cool. I love that inside pocket. I always look for a wallet that has that type of function as well.

I think over the years I've been turning BF onto Apple computers. :) Oh and I run Windows 7 on my work computer and while it looks cool and all … doesn't it just seem like a complete rip off of Apple's operating system?

Well I use to pay over $1K for computers 10 years ago. But my family's last 6 computers have all been int he $300-700 range.
Desktops don't have a high resell value as laptop. So I think it's best to sell now before the desktop gets older. Maybe get him a $999 MacBook if he wants one. But $499 laptops work fine for us.

BTW, it's great you got the new job. My work is on like round #4 of layoffs now so something to think about when making big purchasers.
