April 16-24: Fitness Diary

Well, I kind of slacked off in the fitness department. It’s because of the commute and adjusting to my new job, but that’s kind of a crappy excuse. I should always fit in time for myself. Especially if I want to hit my fitness goals. Hopefully I can establish some sort of routine going forward. Education Opportunities

Another fantastic benefit of my new job is that they offer further education/training opportunities, in which they financially support 100% as long as it fits within my career path. There is a Marketing Management Certificate program I’d love to take through distance education, and the only thing that has been stopping me is money. I didn’t want to take out student loans again! How to fit in fitness

I get up at 5:30am to get to work on time, and I’m not home until 6. And when I get home, I am in no mood to exercise. I am tired and cranky from the commute, and all I want to do is make dinner and hang out with BF. So when do I have time to work out? There’s a rec centre across the street from my office … But while that seems convenient, it … Continue reading

Accessorizing

Over the past few weeks I’ve made a bit of side money through my blog, so I decided to get a couple of necklaces off of Etsy. :) In general, I’m not too adventurous when it comes to accessories – I haven’t changed out my 6 earrings (3 on each side) in years, and bracelets bother me being on a computer all day long, so I usually just stick to necklaces. Lately the only necklace I’ve been wearing is the open heart necklace that BF bought me for my birthday last year. I’m trying to be a bit more bold … Continue reading

Day 1 of the new job

Well, my first day at my new job went great. I love the energy and the people there. Everybody is really friendly and they really care about what they do. It’s also quite an innovative company and my role is going to be shaped around my strengths and what direction I want to take it. So there is plenty of opportunity for growth. It’s just a completely different vibe than my past job. They embrace change, they’re looking for fresh, new ideas, and *gasp* they’re actually training me on the industry. Somebody like my old coworker would never fit into … Continue reading
