I have huge, massive blisters on the bottom of my feet, on the heels. I got them on my 1 hour power walk over the 10th. Which is weird, because I walk all the time. I was wearing my VFFs, but that’s still weird because I’ve run before in them and have been fine. I guess I strike differently when I walk, and also I’ve never run outside with them – always on a treadmill. This could be TMI, but the blisters were really painful and I could barely walk so I had to drain the fluid out of them. And since then I’ve had to take it easy with my exercising. I can’t walk or run because itĀ agitatesĀ the blister area, so all I’ve been doing is my DVD workouts, yoga, stretching, weights, abs – whatever I can do in bare feet.
I’ve been dying to go to the gym and get on those cardio machines. I might try going over the weekend, but BF wants me to help with the demo on a house that he’s doing renovations on. I hate demo. It’s always so dusty and gross. But the job, which will take a couple of weeks, will bring him in around $3,000 so I would like to help him in that sense.

Ouch. Not sure if they'd help on the BOTTOM of your feet, but I really find the Blister Ampoules (I think from Johnson & Johnson) really good at protecting and helping blisters heal. I think the liquid has to be drained out for them to work well anyway (I learned the hard way when I used them last time).
Do you think you can write about your experience with your VFF's so far? (Or have you already done that and I missed it?) I've been toying with the idea of getting a pair, but I've heard you have to completely retrain yourself to walk and run, so I'm curious!
My recent post To Do: Week of April 12-18
Yeah, you really do have to completely retrain yourself to walk/run. It's such a different feeling. You feel every little pebble on the ground. I made the mistake of walking on gravel – that hurt! :)
Overall, I really really like my VFFs. I feel more connected to the earth, and I can tell that it's really helping to strengthen my feet. Also I never roll my ankles anymore (I have weak ankles)… and I thought that I would have problems with my arches because I have flat feet, but everything has been good so far!
I haven't reviewed the current pair that I own (KSO), but I did review the Sprint model back in January.
After several very happy weeks with my VFFs, I took them on a seven mile walk with my dog. I did end up with two blisters – one on the side and another on the back of one foot. I've decided that I must walk a bit differently on that foot. I'm going to band-aid the places that blistered and try a similar walk this weekend and see if any other places on my feet blister. I think in the long term my feet will toughen and not blister, so I just need to hang in there.
Agreed. In time my feet will get used to them at not blister. Same thing happened with my hiking boots. I'm not worried, it's just kind of a pain in the butt to have to take care of blisters.
I can't remember the name of them, but do you think if you got the socks with the toes that it would help prevent the blisters?
I don't know. I never considered wearing socks with VFFs … I don't think the shoes would fit that well with toe socks, because its meant to hug your foot like a second skin.
