So I accepted their offer and will be starting on Tuesday! :)
This is so much better than I could have hoped for. Only $1k less than the salary I was making at my past job, plus an extra week of vacation and full benefits … and a salary review by the end of the year.
All smiles over here, folks!

Woohoo! Congratulations, Krystal! :o)
My recent post Your Wake-Up Call
Congrats! That's amazing, sounds like you're better off than you were. Funny how things work out :)
Yay!!!! So cool. Aw isn't it cool to later to look back and see a blessing in disguise getting laid off? I hate the heartache and stress for you, but am so happy that things work out. Hopefully you won't have any annoying ppl like Coworker nearby in this job! YAY!! Sooo excited!! :)
My recent post I love my bicycle.
It's true, it really was a blessing. Although I couldn't see it as a blessing a month ago. But if I hadn't been let go, I wouldn't have applied for this job and I'd still be miserable working alongside Coworker. :)

I would recommend learning form this experience. Pretend if you had taken you 10 months to get a job versus the 1.5 months. Congrats!
Congratulations!!!
How did the salary negotiation go? What made them up their offer from 45K to 47K?
Well they offered $45k to start, and I asked them for $49,500. I guess $47k was the middle ground, and to make up for the salary difference, there was a promise of a salary review at the end of the year. It's more than I was expecting for sure, and I didn't exactly negotiate very hard, but I'm not complaining. :)
That's so awesome, congratulations! :)
My recent post $5,700 Plan
Awesome!! Be sure to get the salary review in writing, employers have a short memory when it comes to they having to pay! :)
I definitely made sure to get it in writing in my offer letter. I've been burned before with a salary review promise and didn't have it in writing!
Wow that is great Krystal! FANTASTIC NEWS!!! =D

Wow, this is all so fast…. CONGRATULATIONS!! 47K and full benefits, can't beat that :-)
I KNOW. I haven't had full benefits in a really, really long time. It will be nice. Especially since BF can go on my plan now.
Yay! Congrats! I hope that you love the new job!
YAY!!!! Congrats.
I am so happy for you! Congrats! =)
Congratulations. I follow you down here in Houston, Texas and really enjoy your blog. Glad you found something. And an extra week of vacation is worth a lot more than $1,000. Trust me. I would pay $5,000 out of pocket without blinking for an extra week of vacation; no telling how much of a pay cut I would take for one. (But I am an attorney, so the stress level may be different).
I totally agree. An extra week of vacation is amazing. Now BF and I have the flexibility of planning more hiking trips throughout the year.
Thats so awesome! Congrats Krystal!

Congratulations…that's awesome. The extended benefits way make up for the small decrease in salary, in my humble opinion, as does the extra week of holidays.
Congratulations! That's wonderful news!

ohhhhhh so exciting Krystal! Thailand's back on?????
My recent post Happy Dances of Joy!!
Hopefully!!! :) As long as BF can schedule his training and classes around the trip, and as long as he can save up enough money (I definitely know how it feels to be in school and trying to save up for something without having a regular FT job).
That's awesome news! Congrats!

Hey! What kind of retirement benefits you getting?
I don't think I will be getting retirement benefits? It wasn't mentioned when they were going over the compensation package. Which is fine by me (although it would be nice), but I'll just keep on saving by myself.
Congratulations! I hope this is a good fit for you and you enjoy the work!
yay! you work fast :-)

My recent post The Never Ending Debate: Variable or Fixed Mortgage?
Again, a huge CONGRATS to you! It sounds like a great opportunity and the $1K difference is more than made up for in the extra benefits!
Congrats!!! Honestly, I was so worried about you and praying and thinking only good things for you. This is wonderful Krystal, excellent!

Such great, great news! I'm so happy for you. I didn't realize you didn't have full extended benefits at the other job. And you have to love an extra week of vacation time!
My recent post 4 Questions (But it's Not Mah Nishtana!)
Congrats Krystal! So proud of you! Will the commute be okay?
I'll only have to do the long commute until October, then we are moving offices and that will cut my commute time down by a ton. So I'm excited for that.
