Even though I’m unemployed, Mondays still feel like Mondays. Somehow, that just doesn’t seem fair. :)
The weekend was nice though. On Friday I was asked to be interviewed for a story that would be aired on CBC. It was in response to a recent report from David Dodge and the C.D. Howe Institute saying that Canadians aren’t saving enough for retirement. I would have LOVED to do the interview, but unfortunately it would have totally blown my ‘anonymous’ cover. :( Which kind of makes me feel like … why shouldn’t I just start blogging as the real me? It’s not like I have a job to worry about anymore, and really. I don’t blog about work-related issues or anything too personal. I’ve always believed that I write better knowing that I have an anonymous mask on, but do I really? And would my writing really change? It’s something to definitely think about.
Anyway, Friday evening we went to the Norm MacDonald show (I had bought tickets to the show months ago). It was great! So funny, probably even better than the last time I saw him.
On Saturday I washed my car and found a few chips in the paint. :( Guess that happens. I went down to the Suzuki dealership, and for some reason the paint pens in my colour aren’t in stock so I’ll have to go back tomorrow to pick one up. They’re only $10, so it’s not that big a deal. I still need to vacuum and clean the inside of the car, but that won’t take too long. Oh, and take off the ski rack. I think ski season is officially over. What a waste of money that Grouse pass turned out to be. :( Now we have to think about what we want to do for next season – splurge and get a pass to Cypress (BF gets free skiing there, so we’d split the cost of my pass), or both get passes to Grouse again (2 passes to Grouse are cheaper than 1 pass to Cypress)? Neither of us like Seymour, so that’s out of the question. And obviously so is Whistler.
I also listed 15 books on Amazon, so hopefully some of them sell. I want to take a look at my DVD collection today and see if I can try to sell some of those as well. Other than that, I don’t have much more that I can sell. Probably a few items of clothing, but I donated a lot of clothes when I moved in with BF, so most of the stuff I have left, I actually wear.
BF is sick, so we didn’t get any hiking done on the weekend like we had planned.

I cleaned the inside and outside of my Escape on Saturday. The weather was perfect for it by me. It was nice to have a freshly clean vehicle both inside and out.
I always feel like I never make that much money on Amazon with books. It seems like the new prices are often cheaper than your used price and then with that you get a credit that never covers shipping costs. I think with the last book I sold, I just barely broke even or I made like $2. I guess it's Craigslist for me!
Totally agree. Selling books on Amazon isn't really worth it. BUT it's the easiest to do, so I'm trying it out first. It's not so much about making money for me, rather than decluttering my house. If Amazon doesn't work, then I'm definitely going to Craigslist next.
You have given me an idea. I wonder how easy it is to sell books on Amazon.de (the German site)? I think I am going to check that out!
Love the new layout and new home! (I bet you are really liking the backend of wp more than blogger… I remember way back when you used to have those bubble like measure bars on the side of your blogspot blog and thinking: so tech savvy to get those embeded and hanging out at blogspot?)(Ok, there are seo and adsense advantages over the wp.com blogs…)

You really have to think hard about whether you want to end your anonymity status. True–you don’t have a job now, but you have an archive and I remember you writing in several posts about your ex-manager and co-workers (not in a positive light). All this could work against your job prospects. Just a thought.
