What a great weekend! I love being back on the island. There’s something so comforting to be surrounded by friends and family. It’s such a difference from Vancouver, where I still barely know anyone.
I also ran twice over the weekend. Two 5km runs. According to my Nike+ tracker, I paced on average just over 5 min. for every kilometre. But both of those runs were on a treadmill, and it’s so much easier to run in a controlled environment. Today I’ll do a 3.5km run on a hilly chip trail, so we’ll see what kind of time I can pull. I’m hoping for around a 5:45 min. pace, but we’ll see. I’m feeling really out of shape and the run is quite hilly.
Today I’m also hoping to take at least 30 min. to do a bit of job searching online. I’d love to hear back from that job I interviewed for on Friday, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Then tonight I’m going to kick boxing with a friend. I used to take kick boxing classes a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so I’m excited to be going to one again. :)

Wow, that pace is very fast. You shouls enter some 5ks that have prize money! If you can do a 5k in 15 minutes, that’s a really good chance at some prize money!
I didn't realize you could enter local races to win prize money? Not that I'm very fast anyway. I've never run in a race before, besides cross country and track & field in high school…
