Going for a drive tomorrow March 9, 2010

Posted by gmbmfb in : fitness , trackback

Now that I have all this free time, I decided that now would be the perfect time to start running in VFFs. BF and I are going back to the island over the weekend for 4 or 5 days (he’s attending a work course), and I would love to have them while I’m there. I’m also going to bring my hiking boots so that I can go on a few hikes too during the day. WHILE EVERYBODY ELSE IS AT WORK. :)

So tomorrow I’m going to take a little drive across the border and get fitted for VFFs (I’m not sure if I mentioned it on this blog, but I sold my old VFFs on eBay last month because I don’t think I bought the right model for running). I think I’m looking forward to the drive and just the sense of going somewhere, as much as getting the shoes. It’s going to take some time to adjust to wearing VFFs, but I’m really excited about it. They will cost about $85 US. I made $65 when I sold my old pair on eBay, so I only have to make up another $20 + tax with the purchase.

So, sorry to read about your job drama. That is crazy and I'm sure it will take you a while to get over it. Like you said, maybe it's for the best. I'm sure you will land on your feet. At least you have put yourself in a position to be able to take a little time to grieve and get your mind right. Then go out there and find your dream job!

This same thing happened to me in August. I started a job after only 2.5 months of being unemployed. Take it day by day, stay calm. It's tough when you are a type A person and something happens to you that is out of your control. Definitely take a week or two to do some things like hiking, etc to get your mind right again and then start the job hunt. If you need any advice dont hesitate to email me as I just went through nearly the exact same thing but in an accounting position instead of marketing.

I'm surprise that people on eBay really buy practically anything. Even shoes!

It's good that you only need to fork out $20+ tax

I just read about your job loss before. I'm sorry to hear that your former company was so unprofessional as to not even tell you upfront that they plan to let you go. I've never heard of such a sneaky unethical bunch of people. It's probably for the best. Good luck and hope you find something real soon.
