Gross!

Dear co-workers,

Please throw away your yogurt in the fridge that expired November 6, 2007.

That’s just nasty.

Sincerely,

how do you know it was actually yogurt and not a container that someone reused?

  2. Eww, should do a food waste Friday at your work. I'd just throw it out myself. Things might start unwrapping that foil top and crawling out soon!!

Wow. Not only has GMBMFB recently jumped the shark, it's just leaped right over a whole school of dolphins as well! Evolution is natural, but perhaps it's time to change the blog title and tag line … it's not really a personal finance blog anymore.

Best of luck in your new direction.

  4. Hahahah, this reminds me of my last place of employment. People would leave their crap in the fridge and not take it home. It reeked to high heaven. Finally the security guard got pissed off and chucked everything out of the fridge on my last day of work.

  5. hahah EW! Wasn't there an episode of Hoarders where the lady had yogurt from 2007 as well in her fridge? She said "it's still good! yogurt doesn't go bad" when asked.

I've been known to throw away expired food in the fridge at work. Not if it's a day old, but after a few weeks? Into the garbage… so far, no complaints. :) But then again, I don't tell anyone it's me…

Our office does a bi-weekly fridge clean out to get rid of expired items. They send out an email stating when they are doing it, and to put a post-it note with your initials and the date if you want anything saved.

It works really well! They did it in order to get rid of old/unused foodstuffs. :)

Yeah, it’s fairly safe to say that you could probably chuck it yourself without anyone protesting at this point.

  10. In 2006, I was once hired as a temp to help CLEAN, file, make sense of this area at an office (this area next to the windows that spanned across the entire floor). GROSSness. I found magazines from the 1970s. I found soy packets from mid-1990s. Ketchup packets with expiry dates dating to 2001. Eww.

I would definitely throw it out myself. I'm sure the owner has completely forgotten it is theirs…maybe they don't even work there anymore.
