The cost of the weekend home

Okay so I’m back from my weekend home. I had a great time, and got to see a lot of friends. I had budgeted around $120 for the weekend, and here’s what I ended up spending:

Friday
$0 – lunch. BF ended up treating me to lunch.
$28 – parking at the ferries.
$0 – ferry to the island. BF bought my ticket.

Saturday
$0 – gym. Didn’t end up going. I know. I suck.
$30.14 – lunch with my sister. I treated her.
$10 – gift for friend’s new baby. Bought him a little Team Canada t-shirt.
$5.57 – coffee with mom before the movie (I bought for both of us).
$0Avatar date with my mom. She treated!

Sunday
$0 – gym. BF wanted to go for a romantic Valentine’s Day walk. At 7am. That’s right. So I didn’t end up getting to the gym.
$30.82 – breakfast. I treated BF to breakfast at my favourite breakfast place in the city.
$0 – ferry back to Vancouver. BF bought my ticket because I bought breakfast. :)

TOTAL COST = $104.53

Okay so obviously this total doesn’t count the Olympic swag I bought, and I don’t think it needs to. I didn’t want BF to buy both of my ferry tickets, but he insisted. I made up for it by paying for our parking and buying us breakfast.

I feel really, really guilty that I wasn’t able to workout all weekend. But literally I was busy seeing friends and visiting with family for the entire time I was there. I barely even slept! I’ll have to really make up for it in the next couple of weeks, because boy did I eat well when I was home! My mom always spoils me with delicious food whenever I go home. Not to mention the huge Chinese New Years feast we had on Friday!

CONTEST: Canadians, don’t forget to enter to win a copy of QuickTax Standard 2009. Contest ends this Friday, February 19th at 5pm PST!

How did you like Avatar? Did it meet (or exceed) your expectations?

Tiffany: I quite enjoyed Avatar. It kept me interested and wanting more during the entire movie, which is hard to do because I can get bored pretty easily. AND because the plot was pretty weak. But the effects really made up for it.

I would definitely watch it again in theatres (although I don't plan on it, unless J wants to see it with me), and if there is a sequel, I would 100% go see it.
