Day 9: 30 Day Shred

Yesterday was Day 9 of the 30 Day Shred (still on Level 2). It’s getting easier, but I’m still exhausted by all the plank holds. I usually do yoga, stretching & strength after the Shred, but yesterday instead I did crunches and worked on my arms with heavier weights. I am determined to destroy Level 2 and move onto Level 3 sometime next week.

I’ve also been counting my calories again, and that definitely helps a lot. Every little thing adds up. I’m trying to consume about 1,400 calories per day. I’m also making sure to drink loads of tea and water to keep myself hydrated. The new dress really is a huge motivation for me. The wedding will be full of ex-collegiate athletes. So, that’s extra motivation. Although there’s no way I’m the only ex-athlete from our college to have gained a few extra pounds!

In light of all this exercise and trying to balance out my body, I haven’t had time to spend any money! We’re trying really hard not to eat out during the work week, but we do eat out a few times during the weekend. Not the healthiest foods either, so that will have to change. Which is too bad, because we are both pretty much obsessed with the local donair place. SO GOOD.

Love the Shred, thinking of starting it again since my Wii broke… grr! lol! The planks are killer for sure! I feel your pain! ;) 1400 cals isn't much if you're working out daily like that… If you notice that you stop losing I'd up your cals by a couple hundred.

I just started the Shred today and wanted to die. Nothing was too hard just no breaks! The only thing is I CAN'T do pushups — I've never been able to, not even the modified, and when I tried today I BRUISED my knees even with my yoga mat under them. Any suggestion of what I can do besides pushups during that circuit?

Grad School Girl: The only thing I could suggest is wall push-ups? When I was re-habbing a back injury and the rest of my teammates were doing regular push-ups, I was doing mine against a wall…
