2010 Olympics: reserve volunteer

So I was contacted to volunteer again at the Olympics. This time up in Whistler. I would basically be driving the media around. And in exchange for my time, I would get free accommodation and meals in Whistler. Which would be awesome, except that it’s super short notice, and I told them I couldn’t take the time off work to volunteer when I was first offered a Manager role back in the fall.

They asked if they could put me on a reserve list for the Olympics and Special Olympics, and I said I would love that, but would only be available on weekends. I kind of hope they need me. To be up in Whistler for the Olympics would be pretty special. Especially if I could stay there for free!

Couldn't you take some vacation time?? It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!! And it's Whistler!!

Saavy Homegirl: I've already taken 3 days of vacation and have committed to 5 days for a family vacation in the summer. So I don't actually have many more vacation days that I could take towards the Olympics since I only get 2 weeks of vacation per year.
