Saving money on the little things…

I’m trying to save money on the little things, to help fund the big things. For example, it’s 2 weeks into 2010, and even though I’m done my lunch challenge, I still haven’t purchased lunch or snacks yet this year. Which I’m actually quite surprised about. I thought after 12 weeks of going without buying snacks/lunch, I’d want to treat myself.

But instead, I’m happy that I’m saving the money, because my rock climbing membership is due this month. 12 months will cost me about $250. Which may seem like a lot, but is a HUGE bargain considering full price annual passes are around $500.

$250 for a full year is a real bargain!

Here in San Francisco it is $70/month or $770 a year.

It's funny, I haven't let myself go clothes shopping because I have credit card debt, and I thought I would be dying to go crazy! But instead when I hear about my friends' shopping binges, I just think they're crazy. Forcing good habits really can change your outlook! Good for you on the lunches!

I've been doing an eat in month challange and I have to say, I'm having money leftover for things I really appreciate, like bedding, then spending it on fast food and starbucks. I'm also losing weight so it's a win win. I hope I'm like you. After this challange, I hope I'm not tempted to eat out like I used to. :)

We keep trying to cut down on our grocery and eating out costs but it just doesn't seem to happen We're going to try harder this year though!
