Well, earlier today I sent in my first and only payment for my LASIK eye surgery. I was very lucky to have gotten approved for a 12-month 0% interest loan. Although, if I had to do it differently, I would have saved up the money and paid for it in cash. As most of you remember, I decided to get it done with the 0% interest loan because I thought we were going traveling, and if any complications were to occur, I wanted ample time to get corrective surgery before we left for our trip. But how was I to know that we would end up putting our trip on hold …
Still, the LASIK surgery changed my life. I can’t imagine going back to wearing glasses. My quality of life has improved so much, and I’m so happy that I got it done. In fact, I wish I had gotten it done a long time ago.
Next task is to build up my Savings Fund again …

Ahh, that is something I'd like to get done eventually. I just have a hard time setting aside the money for that when there are more pressing and necessary things, like saving up for a car, saving for medical expenses and so on.

Isn't in incredible??? It totally changed my life, too.
Scary, expensive, but worth it in the end!
Good job on paying this off!
I've wanted to have that done, but it isn't covered by my insurance and I could not afford it. It sounds like it has lead to great results for you!

0% interest for one year plans can be great if you really are able to pay them off on time. Congrats to you for doing it (and glad you're enjoying the results). I also ended the year by paying off a 0% plan (at Home Depot, in my case).
I got my LASIK and got two years at the 0% so that was even better for me.
I am VERY happy I had the procedure done but not sure that I could go through it again if my eyes go bad again.
I am now using the card to pay for my dental work…but only got one year at the 0% interest. I love that card and although I was going to close it after the LASIK I found that my dentist uses it so I can get 0% interest on anything big that I might need.
Now if only more places would accept it….
My wife wants to do Lasik, as well. She's severely nearsighted and I think it would be a huge benefit. However, it is expensive and of course insurance doesn't cover it. One of these days will lead to clear vision for her! Good for you, though :)
