I heart Fridays

Well today is pay day, so I updated the sidebars and my NetworthIQ. For the month of November, my net worth increased by 2.96%. I’m pleased about that, especially because I decided to buy out my entire private car insurance for the year (so now I only have approx. $78 payments per month for ICBC basic insurance). And that was pretty expensive. I was also able to throw more money towards my Retirement Portfolio this month. I’m really trying to debate whether I should lower my RRSP contributions and concentrate on my TFSA. Right now about 90% of my Retirement … Continue reading

The Lunch Challenge – Week #7

Well, if you can believe it, I’m almost done the end of Week #7 of my Lunch Challenge. Just about one month to go, and I’m doing great! My weight has remained steady at around 132-133 lbs, and if I could ever get my butt in gear and start working out on a regular basis, I know I’ll hit my goal of 130 lbs. My cravings are almost gone. ecoRoute for Garmin GPS

Today via Twitter (thx @thebuma!) I found out that Garmin has this awesome (free) software update for some of their GPS models called ecoRoute. It is a very very cool feature to have on a GPS. When selected, the GPS will determine if more fuel efficient routes exist based upon road speed data and vehicle acceleration data for a given route. This option is perfect for me, because I’d … Continue reading

This and that on a Wednesday morning

Last night I went for coffee with my friend who lost her engagement ring. Still haven’t found it. It was a custom-made ring, so they went back to the ring designer and told him their situation. He suggested that he could make an exact replica of the ring, and use real diamonds to surround the centre diamond like before, but the centre diamond would actually be a cubic zirconia – and then when they had enough money down the road to replace the cubic zirconia, he could just pop it out and replace it with a real diamond. All that … Continue reading

What’s in my purse?

So a while ago everyone was showing what was in their purse in order to win Well-Heeled’s What’s In My Bag contest. As I was Canadian, I didn’t bother entering because it was only open to US residents, but I did mean to post the contents of my bag anyway on my blog since a few other Canadians also ended up joining in on the fun even though they weren’t eligible. And as usual, I’m a little late to the party. But better late than never, right? :) My one and only purse is a Roots Village Venetian Bag that … Continue reading
