My right eye has been twitching non-stop for the past 4-5 hours. It’s driving me insane! I guess you could say that I’m stressed out over a lot of things. So this little mini vacation to Tofino really couldn’t come at a better time. Anyway, I’ve also been doing my research on a new cell phone. I’ve narrowed it down to a few practical choices, and then one not-so-practical choice, but it’s just so good looking that it’s hard to say no. :) I’m not rushing into any decision, and my maximum price is about $175. I’m looking on eBay … Continue reading
I am so excited to go Tofino tomorrow! Tonight we’re going to Superstore to pick up some groceries. It’s so rare that we go car camping. We can bring as many things as we want! Normal sized pillows! A blanket! Chairs! Usually we’re so concerned with taking as little as possible in our backpacks. And this will also mark the first time we’ve gone camping and will be having a fire. BF has promised me that I can roast wieners on a stick and make as many s’mores as I want. :) So I would estimate that our groceries will … Continue reading
Tonight BF and I are going to the Canucks/Habs game. I’m beginning to think that I’m Vancouver’s lucky charm, because over the last few years I’ve probably seen 9 or 10 games, and the Canucks have won all of them. Not cool. And even though my Flames beat up on the Habs last night, I’m still going to pull on my Montreal shirt tonight. I’m also really loving the Calgary retro jerseys that they’re wearing this year. Almost enough to buy one sometime before we go to Calgary in January. It will probably cost me about $150 if I buy … Continue reading
Okay, after thinking about what to do with my Travel Fund, I’ve changed my mind on how to split up the money. So here’s what I just did: $1,000 Emergency Fund. $1,000 Savings Fund. I am going to use it for my LASIK after all. This will wipe out all the money in there, but I feel more comfortable allotting the money into the Car Fund instead. $2,000 Car Fund. Annual insurance is coming up next month. I haven’t decided if I’m going to pay it all at once, or have it deducted monthly from my account. Plus, my car … Continue reading
Last night I went and set up a Car Fund savings account through ING. I think that $10,000 is a good amount to try and save over the next 3 years. And considering I’m not saving $500/bi-weekly for travel anymore, I think I can pull it off. Obviously I won’t be able to buy a new car for $10,000. I’d like to save $15,000 (which still isn’t enough), but it will depend on how long my current car lasts, and how much I want to save into this fund, knowing that it will take away from saving in other categories. … Continue reading
