Inspired by Fabulously Broke’s post, “How much would you pay for…” I decided to take a look at what I would be comfortable spending on certain things (prices are in CAD $ and before tax). Purse: $200 Wallet: $100 Winter jacket: $350 A pair of knee-high boots: $250 A casual but not formal dress: $100 Formal dress: $300 Pants (inc. jeans): $150 Computer: $3,000 Runners: $250 Of course, there’s always wiggle room. I scoff at most clothing/shoes/purse priced over $50 anyway. So I’ve got to love something if I’m going to spend more than $50 on it. That being said, … Continue reading
I am drooling over the new 27″ quad core iMac computer. Lusting might be a more appropriate word. But, I can’t justify it unless I start to take on a lot more contract work (which isn’t going to happen right now). I bought my current 24″ iMac about 2.5 years ago and it still runs fine. I bet the people who have more than $10k in a savings account with PC are going to be PISSED. But you really had to see this coming. That’s why most of my $$$ is … Continue reading
I am very excited to announce that thanks to the wonderful people at Vibram Five Fingers, I will be reviewing the VFF Sprint (it’s being shipped to me!). I am going to try them out rock climbing, running, walking, fitness (indoors with my Wii), and as general everyday shoes. I’m a little sketchy taking them as light hikers, even though the website says they can be used for light hiking. Also … I may or may not be giving away a pair of VFFs too … :) So stay tuned!
So this is the beginning of Week #2 of my Lunch Challenge (not buying lunch or snacks during the work day until the end of the year). Week #1 went well, although it was only a 4-day work week due to Thanksgiving. I had soup all 4 days. So in an effort to change it up, last night I made tuna salad sandwiches for both BF and I to bring for lunch today. I used to bring dinner leftovers for lunch, but I find that our dinners are usually the heaviest meal of the day, so I just ended up … Continue reading
