Twittering differences

I personally do not follow everyone that follows me. I did at the very beginning, but then I found it was hard to keep up with everyone’s tweets, and I was missing messages from the people I interact with on a regular basis. So a week later I trimmed the list and figured that most people probably just like Twitter-lurking and reading what others have to say. And if they had something to say to me, then they’d let me know. I’m not trying to be exclusive or anything, I seriously just don’t have the brain capacity to keep up with everyone’s Tweets, and I do want to maintain a personal level of interaction with everyone. So that’s why I do it.

That being said, if someone follows me and then we start talking, I will most definitely follow them back. It happens all the time.

But today someone got kind of annoyed that I hadn’t followed them back. And I’m assuming they then deleted me from their list. Which is fair enough. I guess people use Twitter in different ways.

Do you follow everyone that follows you on Twitter?
