Yesterday I was down in Seattle. What a gorgeous day! Perfect to watch a ball game.
We got through the border relatively quickly, so we were able to stop at 2 separate outlet malls plus Target! :) Don’t worry, I didn’t go crazy.
After some of you guys commented that Aveeno is kind of a low-end brand, I thought that perhaps that was an American thing. Because in Canada, sure it’s a drug store brand and it’s in the aisles, but it’s by no means cheap. It’s around as expensive as Oil of Olay. So anyway, I went into Target and wow!!! It’s half the price there than it is in Canada. Too bad I just bought a full Aveeno face care regiment from Superstore. If I had known, I would have waited! And the make-up that I use? Almost half the price as well. RIDICULOUS. I’m shopping in the USA for my personal care items from now on. I ended up buying some make-up and a face wash for about $40 total, after exchange rate. If I had bought it in Canada, it would have cost me about $70.
We also went to the Lululemon outlet. I gave myself permission to think about buying a sports bra and a pair of shorts. But they either didn’t have my size, or they were crazy colours. Oh well. Then I power shopped in the Banana Republic outlet, tried on about 15 things, and walked out empty-handed. Nothing fit perfectly, and even though they were having a ridiculous sale, I couldn’t justify it. I did pick up 2 half-price tanktops from J.Crew ($6.50 each) as well as a pair of black tights ($12.50). And that’s it!
Oh, and it was a bad day for eating. I treated J to breakfast for around $12. I treated my friends with lunch (my contribution b/c they filled up on gas before I met up with them). That was about $25. Then we stopped at Krispy Kreme (they wanted to) and I bought BF 6 doughnuts for $5, and then I ate one. So bad of me, but it was really good. I never go to Krispy Kreme, and that’s probably a good thing. Then when I came home, I treated BF to donairs for dinner for about $16 total.
So all in all, I spent approximately $165 for the day (including my baseball ticket). Pretty good considering $70 of it was for stocking up on personal care items, and a few basic wardrobe essentials. I could have saved money by not going out for breakfast or dinner, but I don’t mind. We got up super early and got home late. It was a long day.
