Weekend spending recap

Well, this weekend wasn’t as productive as we had planned, but it was still nice. Our original plan was to go rock climbing on Saturday (which we did – and I climbed my first 5.10b!), and then go for a long day hike on Sunday. Well, the hike BF had wanted to do would have been at least 12 hrs. long – too much for me to consider as a day hike, especially because it would have taken 3 hrs. round trip by car just to get to that area. Then I guess we didn’t have a backup plan, so Sunday was pretty lazy. We watched a few movies and played lots of board games. In the evening, I went for a 30 min. run, but that’s about it.

I had to buy a new belay device for rock climbing, since I lost mine a few weeks ago and haven’t been able to find it. We think I left it at the gym and someone scooped it. So I picked one up for $23 at MEC. Expensive! While there, I also picked up a $34 backpack for day hikes. I might return it, since I already bought one last month but it didn’t fit right so I was going to give it to BF … but I think I can make it work. I don’t like the new one because it doesn’t have a place for my water bladder, and that was kind of the point. And the other one I bought does. So I’ll try it again after work today.

I also bought a tank of gas ($45.52), and treated us to dim sum and sushi on Saturday from T&T ($31). Expensive, but we had enough for lunch and dinner that day. I also rented I Love You, Man for Friday night, and that was $5.59 at Rogers.

Total weekend spending: approx. $140

  1. [...] hard to find a nice small bag with a pocket specifically to hang my hydration bag. This past Sunday I returned a $34 MEC backpack that I had purchased in early August. It was nice, but I really like this Black Diamond bag better. [...]
