Last night I treated BF to dinner – $13.75 for donairs for the both of us. Cheap and delicious. After searching online for an estimation on calories for 1 donair, I settled on 750. Which is a lot – but I was ridiculously full afterwards, and at the end of the day I had 130 calories left over from my 1,418 daily budget. So even if I was off by a bit, I still had some room to play with.
If I eat 1,418 calories per day, that equals 1 pound lost per week, not including any exercise. So obviously if we go hiking this weekend, I will be eating much more than 1,418 calories/day, but other than that, I think this is something I can do. 5 lbs = 5 weeks or less, depending on my exercise schedule. And then I will switch to maintaining my weight.
We’re going grocery shopping this evening, so we’ll see how we do budget-wise AND health-wise.
