So this coming long weekend BF and I are headed to Osoyoos to meet up with his family. I’m excited for a relaxing weekend at a lake, but I’m also worried about over spending. Especially because we’ll probably have to buy all of our meals (since we’re staying 45 min. away from Osoyoos and we’ll be driving into town each day to hang out with his family).
We’re leaving on Saturday morning and coming back on Monday sometime.
Here’s my estimated weekend budget:
$60 – my share of gas
$0 – accommodation (camping for free on his aunt’s acreage)
$100 – food + entertainment ($50/day for 2 full days)
$40 – miscellaneous
TOTAL = $200
That’s not bad for an entire long weekend getaway. Definitely not as cheap as staying in town or going hiking (which was our original plan, but with BF’s ankle and his family coming in from Alberta, this trip seems like the thing to do), but still reasonable. Especially considering Osoyoos is super popular in the summer and the hotel that his family is staying at is well over $200/night.
