I had a great weekend back home! Saturday morning I got up early and went to the gym with a friend. She works at a rec centre, so she wanted to go to that gym (since she gets in for free – plus she needed to skip off for a bit during our workout so she could buy tickets to the Olympics). The drop-in rate for the gym was $9!!! I couldn’t believe it. That’s DOUBLE what I normally pay. The gym is nice and big and there are lots of machines … but definitely not worth $9. I was … Continue reading
Hi everyone, Ginger Corsair (from Ginger Won’t Snap) just e-mailed me and wanted to pass on this message to her readers. I know that a lot of GMBMFB readers also read her blog, so here it is: Hello my darling readers. You may have noticed that the blog is currently closed right now. My search for the perfect pair of jeans is never ending. Last night I watched a documentary called Blue Jean Confidential on CBC. It was actually really, really good. And that’s when I got to thinking, if I’m willing to shell out $200 for a pair of designer jeans, wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a custom made pair of jeans? Enter IndiDenim. For around $150 US you can totally customize the jeans you want, and if they don’t fit, you can return them and order a new pair … Continue reading
I realized over the past few days that I don’t have a lot of work appropriate summer wear. Over the past few years I’ve been slowly trying to collect classic pieces that will last. I have pants, 3 sweaters and 3 button-down shirts. I own 1 skirt that is work appropriate (and is about 6 years old), 1 summer weight cardigan (I have 2 other cardigans, but both are cashmere and long sleeved – way too hot for summer) … and 2 or 3 dressy short sleeved tops. I’d like to buy 1 or 2 skirts (that could be worn … Continue reading
Yesterday after work I was supposed to meet my friend for a walk. I changed into shorts, a t-shirt and runners. When she came to meet me, she was wearing flip flops and a dress and asked if I wanted to go for dinner instead. That kind of annoyed me because I had planned on going home and making dinner with BF after the walk. But I said yes anyway, since I was already there and I hadn’t seen her in a while and she clearly wasn’t dressed for a long walk. I suggested Subway (because then I could use … Continue reading
