Dinner last night and sorting out money

Last night I went out for dinner at Earls with the girls and had a great time. I got to hear about all the traveling adventures they’ve been on (one went to China, another went to Italy, and another went to Brazil). Oh, and one of them announced that they were 3 months pregnant! :)

After tax and tip I spent exactly $15, so I’m pleased I stayed within the budget I set for myself. I didn’t buy a drink (even though a lot of them were drinking caesars and I really wanted one), and just sipped on lemon water instead.

One of the girls owes me $50 for camping fees that I paid for (for our Labour Day weekend trip – $25 for her, and $25 for her friend), but she said she was going to Calgary and didn’t have the money at the moment. She said she’d get it to me when she comes back in mid-July, once she gets paid again. I know she’s eventually good for the money, but considering it’s been over 2 weeks since I bought the reservation, it’s kind of annoying. Last year we did the same thing, I put it all on my card, but she paid me back immediately that time. I know it’s what I get for offering to put it on my credit card and being “that person,” but to be honest the other 3 girls I’m going with, they all live with maxed out credit cards and wouldn’t have been able to put the $125 total on their cards anyway. I asked, since I put it on my card last year. Thought we could take turns or something.

Speaking of which, I still haven’t received my $25 BC Parks parking pass. They said it would be mailed out within 2 business days of purchase … and it would be a total burn if we didn’t have it for this weekend, considering I bought it over 2 weeks ago. I even called in again after making the purchase, to make sure they had the correct mailing address. I’d better call them right now.
