Uggg. I’ve called Canada Post 3 times, and have personally gone down to the post office to ask about my situation, and everyone is giving me different answers.

I called the post office where my passport is being held. The woman said I would have to go down to my local post office and pick up a Letter of Authorization Form. Then fax in the signed form with a piece of ID to her post office. She said that the clerk at the post office I go to would have to witness it, sign it, and send it in for me.

So on my lunch break I walked down to the Post office. They gave me the Letter of Authorization Form and said I would have to get someone to witness it and then I could fax it into the post office that is holding my passport. I would also have to fax a copy of my ID. My mom would also need a copy of the LoA and a copy of my ID in order to pick it up.

Then I called Canada Post. They said I’d have to get someone to notorize my letter (lawyer, doctor, etc). Then I could fax it into the post office with a copy of my ID.

I called Canada Post again and they said I have to mail the original copy of the LoA plus a copy of my ID to my mom (instead of the post office), who then takes it into the post office. She said the post office does not need a copy because they’d take my mom’s copy.

Who is right? I don’t know what to do, aside from calling Canada Post a 4th time.
