Travel Blog – now or later?

I need your opinion, dear readers.

So I started up a travel blog. I got it all set up and created graphics and everything. I even started writing a few posts. I want to document everything from the lead-up preparation to the actual trip. So that means talking about making decisions, saving money, planning a route, buying gear, etc. I think it’s really important to know and understand what it costs to do a trip like this one on a budget. And since we’re planning and deciding things right now (and I’m learning as we go), it just makes logical sense to write about it.

Right now the permissions are set to private. Part of me wants to make it public now so that people can follow along in the journey, but another part of me wants to hold on until next year so that people won’t get bored along the way and I won’t feel pressured to manage 2 blogs at once.

Plus, I think a very low percentage of GMBMFB readers would read the travel blog, since I talk about it sometimes over here. And then that leads to a whole other decision – do I double post things that are relevant to both blogs, or do I split them up and only post travel-related posts on the other blog. It’s a tough decision.

The trip is 1 year away.

What do you think?
