From 2 wheels to 4 wheels!

I bought a car! That is an actual picture of it. 1994 Volkswagen Golf. It’s in really good shape, low KMs, clean and mechanically sound. I had BF come with me to check it out and go for a test drive. He really liked it, so I decided to go for it. It’s a great deal and a good car for getting us around the city. It was listed at $3,400 but she accepted $3,000 for it. :) So, I sold my scooter for $1,600. I also made $500 in extra income this month from my blog. So that means … Continue reading

So it’s official: I’m moving in with BF for June 1st! :) I’ll be paying a flat $150/month. This will include all utilities, my share of internet/cable, and my contribution to the upkeep of the house. I will also be paying for insurance for both of us for the car. My mom said that it’s not too expensive to put another person on insurance, but I’ll have to go and check out what the rates are once I get a car. Yesterday we scoured Craigslist and a bunch of furniture websites. We definitely need a new couch and a fridge. … Continue reading

Exhausted!

Today has been tiring. We’ve been up since 5:30am (BF got up at 5:30am due going to sleep before 8pm last night – jet lagged still!) … and it’s now about 10:30pm. This morning, we went to go look at that VW Golf. When we got to the dealership, it looked perfect – except that it was a manual! Boo urns! So needless to say, we didn’t even test drive it. Then BF dropped me off at home and I finally sold my scooter for $1,600. Sad, but relieved that it’s over and done with. She went to a good … Continue reading

Bye bye Scooter!

Hoorah! The scooter has sold. Can’t say that I wasn’t sad to see it ridden away by someone else. I was really attached to it, but it didn’t make sense to keep it and never EVER ride it. I think since I moved to Vancouver, I’ve taken it out less than 10 times. And not at all since October (when I moved to my current place). I originally bought the scooter brand new in a private sale for $2,200 3 years ago, and today I sold it for $1,600 (+$75 insurance refund). I took a loss of $800, not including … Continue reading

Scooter: pending sale. again.

So I had 2 viewings for my scooter this evening, and got 2 offers! :) The first woman to view it said that she would call me in the morning and bring over cash for the sale. The 2nd people to view it had cash in hand, but I told them that since the first woman wanted it, I had to give it to her – but if the sale fell through, I would give them a call. I’m sure some would have just taken the cash from the 2nd couple, but I couldn’t do it to the first woman. … Continue reading
