Give Me Back My Five Bucks

Well, the car ended up being a total write-off. I forgot about the cost of renting a car for BF when he gets back – so he can get to and from work, sort out paperwork with ICBC, go to the car dealership, get a new car, etc. His insurance covers rental cars, but unfortunately only for the owner of the car, and not for me. So for a 9 day car rental, it will cost me about $250-275 through National when it’s all said and done. That also includes a $35-off coupon.

Wow what a roller coaster of emotions over the past few days. Sad that BF is gone. Scared when I got lost driving to the ferry terminal. Happy to see my sister. Excited to start our road trip. Terrified when I crashed the car. Thankful for family. Lonely and anxious. Depressed. Stressed out. And now. Relieved. For such a major car crash, this is the best possible scenario. Everyone is alive and well. No blood or broken bones. And thankfully, everything will be covered under BF’s insurance. The events that happened after the crash were such a blur. Fire trucks, ambulance, police, tow trucks, phone calls … chaos. My friend came to pick my sister and I up. Nothing seemed real after that, and we were so grateful that nobody got hurt. It’s a miracle, really. I spoke to BF’s parents, who were an amazing help. And thankfully BF checked his e-mail, and I was able to talk to him very briefly yesterday. This has been the worst day of my life. On our way to the border, we got into a major car accident. Everyone is okay though. I don’t know what to do. I’m scared and I wish BF were here. :(
