Okay, here is my budget and my goals for the month of May. BF will be able to either borrow a friend’s truck or his work van to help me move to his house, so I won’t need to worry about moving costs. I’ll treat him to a nice dinner of course. :)
I’m going to try to slowly move a few boxes here and there over the month of May, so that by the time BF borrows a moving vehicle, we’ll only have the big things to bring. Last fall when I was moving into this apartment, everything was super rushed and we felt really stressed out because we really only had access to the moving vehicle for one night.
Okay, obviously there are a few changes here. I’m not going to save as much as I’d like to save this month, but I really really want to stick to my budget. I’ve been over-budget every single month this year. I have to pay MSP this month (bummer), and this will be my last month of rent at my apartment. I put $500 for household because we need to buy a couch, fridge and some sort of coat/shoe rack. I don’t know how much it will all cost, but figured it’s better to over-estimate the cost.
I put $100 for gas and bus tickets. I’m not sure how much everything is going to cost. BF and I are going to alternate paying for gas, since he’ll be driving the car 50% of the time. I don’t think it will cost $100 for my portion, but I can adjust that for June’s budget.
BF is staying with me while his brother is in town (May 1-10), but after wards I’m thinking of getting rid of my cable. No point in having it, since I’m spending most of my time at his house anyway – plus whenever I’m at my apartment I’ll probably be packing. I’ll keep my computer with internet until the day I actually move out. I’m hoping to move out a little sooner than the end of the month, or at least have most of my stuff gone … because I don’t like being there when the landlord has to show the apartment and I’m there just being awkward. It’s weird.
