From 2 wheels to 4 wheels!

I bought a car! That is an actual picture of it. 1994 Volkswagen Golf. It’s in really good shape, low KMs, clean and mechanically sound. I had BF come with me to check it out and go for a test drive. He really liked it, so I decided to go for it. It’s a great deal and a good car for getting us around the city. It was listed at $3,400 but she accepted $3,000 for it. :)

So, I sold my scooter for $1,600. I also made $500 in extra income this month from my blog. So that means I’ll only need to pay an additional $900 for it. And I’ll be able to pay that off by the time I move.

For the time being, it’s going to sit in my line of credit which is currently at a 4% interest rate. I could pull the money from elsewhere and not have anything sitting in my LOC, but I like having money available should an emergency arise. Although, if there ever were an emergency I could just pull from the LOC anyway. Still, I feel most comfortable doing it this way.

I’m really excited to have a car again. We’re going back tomorrow after work to pick it up and do all the paperwork. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about the insurance. I’ll probably do monthly payments for 12 months, since I don’t have the money up-front to pay for a year in advance.
