Sorting out ICBC paperwork

Today BF and I sorted out the ICBC paperwork. I gave him $500 for the deductible, and he was able to get part of the rental car paid for by our adjuster. So we’ll have a free rental until Monday (the rental place will charge my credit card, then ICBC will reimburse me the cost). And then we have to figure out what we’re going to do. BF’s brother is coming down with his family and was going to use BF’s car while he was here for a week. So I might have to pay for the cost of their rental car. Which is fine, since I essentially don’t have to pay for the current rental car anymore.

We also saw a really good deal on a VW Golf in great shape and with super low KMs, so we’re going to the dealership tomorrow morning sometime to check it out. When I called them, they said the price was negotiable, and the listing price is already within my price range (I’m in a haggling mood, so I’m sure I can get it down even lower). And since I’m not really in a rush, I have no problems walking away if it’s not exactly what I want. Although over the last few days I’ve done a lot of research and it really does look like a good deal … but you can’t really tell until you check it out in person. Gotta make sure BF fits in the car and it’s in good shape. So we’ll see what happens.
