Now I definitely need a new iPod

Even before the car crash, my iPod was on the fritz. But I guess it got tossed around a few too many times when the accident happened (and a full cup of coffee spilled on it while it was turned on), so my iPod is now completely toast. I even took it to an Apple store to see if they could revive it. But alas, it’s gone to Cool Eletronic Gadget Heaven.

What’s certain is that I can live without an iPod for now. But I know that I will want to have one soon, because it sucks going to the gym or running without music. And I’ll definitely need one for the cruise to Alaska.

I’ve done my research, and the 120 GB iPod Classic seems to be the best fit for my needs. The Nano and Shuffle are too small, and the Touch is just too flashy for traveling. Plus, I like having the click wheel.

With the Apple Education discount on their website (technically I’m still a student, as I’m registered in University – I just haven’t taken any courses yet), the 120 GB Classic would run me $279 before tax. Not bad! I might even be able to find one on eBay for less. But one thing is for certain, I’m not going to buy a used or refurbished iPod.

So my goal is to purchase one sometime this summer. After everything has calmed down and I can figure out where I am with my finances, and hopefully have my new budget in place when I move in with BF.
