Got my passport photo taken

I went to London Drugs and got my passport photo taken yesterday ($11). I asked for the picture in black and white, because I am a firm believer that everyone looks better in black and white. :) Also, this past weekend BF and I were able to talk to my aunt a bit about our trip. She has been a travel agent all her life – so if you’ve ever wanted to go somewhere in the world, chances are she’s already been there. She likes traveling off the beaten path, so she’s got a lot of insight into areas that we’re most interested in.

I’m upset with myself that I let my passport expire (expired back in 2005), so now I have to apply for a brand new one. And soon too, because I think Canadians can’t drive across the border into the USA anymore without a passport starting this summer. It’s SUPER annoying that passports have to be renewed every 5 years. In the USA, it’s 10 years.

Also, I’ve been trying to convince my mom to come to Africa with us, where we will start our trip. She’s never done something like that before, and I know she’d be absolutely thrilled to climb Kilimanjaro and see another part of the world. I think BF’s brother and maybe his parents also will be joining us for the Africa portion of our trip. At least for part of it anyway. We’re hoping to spend a month there, so I doubt they’ll be with us for the entire time.
