This weekend we’re going back to the island ($26 travel round trip). I have a hair appointment ($35 + tax & tip). That’s all I really have planned. There’s a field hockey game I want to watch on Saturday morning (free), and then I think I might be going over to BF’s grandparents house for dinner on Saturday. I have brunch with my family on Sunday (free), and then perhaps a coffee date with a friend.
Here’s what I’m budgeting:
Friday
$13 ferry
$10 food with my sister (?)
Saturday
$5 tea + snack while watching the game
$45 hair cut
$10 lunch
Sunday
$5 tea + snack with friend
$13 ferry
So my budget is approximately $100. More than I would usually spend because of the hair cut, but that’s okay. I don’t feel bad getting my hair cut anymore, since I switched stylist. My old stylist cost about $70 (after tax/tip), and at the beginning she was fabulous – I went to her for 7 years. But then she switched salons and started to get really popular. My appointments were always bumped or she was way behind. It got to the point where I would be waiting an entire hour after my scheduled appointment, and I’m sorry but I don’t have all day to be sitting in a salon waiting for her just because she overbooks herself all the time. So I switched to someone in a trendy salon downtown (Fish), and I love her. She’s only $35 ($45 after tax/tip), she’s always on time, and she’s friendlier. This will be my third time seeing her.
Annnnyway, I’ll probably be back on the island again once in April for the PT job, but after that, I’m not sure when I’ll be home next. It depends on what happens at the PT job, I guess!
