Your tax refund is not free money. Your tax refund is the opposite of free money. That is a fact. My friends are driving me crazy. Every day, I see status updates on Facebook saying how upset they are that they didn’t get a big enough tax refund this year. It’s that time of the year, I guess. Now, I understand the psychological advantage of getting the tax refund (the whole “forced savings” thing is stupid, so stop thinking like that). But really. Let’s be honest. When you get a tax refund IT MEANS YOU PAID TOO MUCH TAX!!! The … Continue reading
Just in case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past week… I’m not going to get into it, as this is a PF blog. But I don’t recall being more angry at FOX News in my entire life. Especially at the comment one of the guests made about not even knowing Canadian troops were in Afghanistan. We’ve lost 116 soldiers to this “war on terrorism” and have been fighting alongside the Americans since 2002. So. Please.
Here is my budget for April. Pretty much exactly the same as March, except an increase in Travel and Clothing (budgeting for the outlet mall trip – still not sure if I’m going or not, but better to budget for it than not). If I exercise twice in one day, I’m only counting it as 1x. Only buy lunch a maximum of … Continue reading
Alright, I have all my tax paperwork ready to go. Now I need to book my appointment at H&R Block. I thought about filing my taxes myself, but I really don’t trust myself to do it. I would prefer a professional help me – especially because of my personal business. I don’t want to screw up! VERY excited to get my taxes done! :) In other news, I’ve been debating whether to buy Adobe CS4. I have CS2 right now (student version), but it’s not really doing me any favours. If I do end up buying it, it would be … Continue reading
Last night BF and I were supposed to go skiing, but opted for a lazy night in instead. We went out to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant for dinner ($38 – I paid b/c he still won’t take money for gas), and then hung out at his place and watched the Flames destroy the Red Wings. We also played Scrabble (I won), Frustration (I won again), and Boggle (guess who won?). :) Today after work our plan is to go skiing for a few hours, then hit up the climbing gym. I don’t really want to get into it, but if … Continue reading
